About this program

The European Society of Regional Anaesthesia (ESRA) awards Research Grants of up to €10,000 to ESRA members to support direct costs for research in regional anaesthesia and pain medicine, preferably for projects performed in Europe and for research programs or rotations of at least three months. Funding is disbursed as a fixed €4,000 reimbursement four weeks before program start (conditional on confirmation and required approvals), up to €3,000 after 12 months or completion of data collection upon submission of documentation, and the remaining funds after manuscript acceptance; up to two grants are awarded annually. Eligible applicants must be ESRA members, with preference for projects led by ESRA members and investigators with prior first/senior author publications in the field. Required application materials include the application form, responsible fellow’s CV, academic mentor commitment (short CV), detailed study protocol with statistics, timeline, cost plan, and ethics or animal research approval; applications are scored by the Grants Committee and final decisions are presented to the ESRA Board.
