Ethel Newbold Prize for excellence in statistics

The Bernoulli Society, with support from Wiley, awards the Ethel Newbold Prize biennially to recognize excellence in statistics and to honor the historical role of women in the field. It recognizes an outstanding early- or mid-career statistical scientist for a body of work demonstrating excellence in mathematical statistics and/or research that links substantive fields to advances in statistics; the award includes €2,500, a certificate, and an invitation to present at a Bernoulli World Congress, a Bernoulli-sponsored major conference, or the ISI World Statistics Congress. Candidates must be nominated and be judged as outstanding early- or mid-career statistical scientists; in any award year the prize will not be given unless the pool of nominations includes candidates of both genders. There is currently no active call for nominations, so interested nominators and nominees should await future announcements from the Bernoulli Society.
