Faculty Seed Grant (Water Center)

About this program

Montana Water Center (serving the Montana University System) invites faculty seed grant proposals to stimulate innovative water-related research, including topics such as climate change effects, agricultural water management, water quality–quantity relationships, socio-ecological systems, water policy, and ecological restoration. For 2026–2027 the center will fund one-year projects with awards up to $25,000; pre-proposals are due March 17 and the tentative funding period is Jan–Dec 2027. Eligible applicants are academic or research faculty at Montana Institutions of Higher Education (early-career faculty are especially encouraged); see the RFP or contact water@montana.edu for details.
