Financial Assistance Grants - Wounded Airmen & Guardians Program (AFA)

About this program

The Air & Space Forces Association’s Wounded Airmen & Guardians Program provides financial assistance grants to eligible Airmen, Guardians, and caregivers for rehabilitative and quality‑of‑life needs not covered by the Department of the Air Force, VA, Air Force Aid Society, or other agencies—examples include short‑term rent and utility payments, pre‑loaded gas cards, adaptive rehabilitation or adaptive sports equipment, and other urgent needs. Emergency requests can be approved and processed within 24 hours, and all funds are disbursed directly to vendors or bill collectors (not issued to individuals). Applicants must be Wounded Airmen & Guardians Program beneficiaries and have needs coordinated through an AFW2 Recovery Care Coordinator or Non‑Medical Case Manager; validated requests are submitted by the AFW2 Region Lead and reviewed by the AFA committee for ethics and long‑term budget sustainability before approval.
