Flood Partnership: Real-time Data Grant Program

About this program

The California Department of Water Resources offers the Flood Partnership: Real-time Data Grant Program to fund equipment and installation for real-time reservoir elevation and hydro-meteorological data collection, transmission, and sharing with the California Data Exchange Center. The statewide program supports improved flood forecasting, emergency response, and downstream public safety at dams with ungated spillways, with approximately $3.5 million available through June 30, 2029; matching funds are not required. Eligible applicants are California public agencies that own or have primary responsibility for a dam under the jurisdiction of the Division of Safety of Dams, including counties, cities, water districts, and other local government entities. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, and awards are provided through reimbursement for approved project expenses.
