Florida Cancer Innovation Fund (Fiscal Year 2025-26)

The Florida Legislature created the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund within the Casey DeSantis Cancer Research Program, overseen by the Florida Cancer Connect Collaborative, to support innovative cancer research and treatment models; $60 million is available for Fiscal Year 2025–26 to fund rapid (12‑month) projects including clinical trials, nutrition‑based prevention research, and generic drug repurposing initiatives. The program is designed to catalyze collaborations among oncologists, cutting‑edge researchers, cancer facilities and medical providers to break down silos and strengthen competitiveness for extramural cancer research funding. Applicants should be Florida‑based research teams or cancer‑care organizations (or partnerships among clinicians, investigators and facilities) proposing high‑impact, expedited projects aligned with the fund’s priorities and must comply with the grant management, application and reporting requirements detailed in the FOA (required forms, PeerNet submissions and associated documentation).
