About this program
The College Art Association annually awards the Frank Jewett Mather Award in recognition of significant published art criticism, honoring outstanding work in art journalism and critical writing. The prize recognizes criticism that appeared in a publication during the one-year period of September 1–August 31 preceding the February presentation. Eligible entries are substantial pieces of published art criticism from that timeframe; submission procedures and a juried selection process are administered by CAA.
