George A. Bartholomew Award

About this program

The Division of Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry (SICB) awards the George A. Bartholomew Award annually to a young investigator for distinguished contributions to comparative physiology and biochemistry or related functional/integrative biology, including a plenary lecture at the SICB annual meeting, a cash prize, and reimbursement for meeting expenses. Eligible applicants must be active SICB members who earned their doctorate within the past seven years and must not have previously won the Carl Gans or M. Patricia Morse Awards; nominations of individuals from underrepresented groups (including women) are encouraged. Candidates may self-apply or be nominated and should submit a short description of their work, up to three reprints, a curriculum vitae, a one-page equity/diversity/inclusivity statement, and arrange for three letters of support (nominators provide the same materials but only two letters).
