Gerry Farrell Award — fieldwork travel support for music/ethnomusicology research

Sempre, a professional society, offers the Gerry Farrell Awards to support fieldwork-related travel and subsistence for research in areas aligned with the Society’s aims (e.g., ethnomusicology, music education), with awards of up to £4,000. Applicants must complete the downloadable application form and send it to the Sempre Secretary; proposals are judged by the Sempre Awards Panel on quality, originality, significance and demonstrable need, with decisions normally communicated within six weeks and awards to be taken up within 12 months (or by negotiation). Eligibility is open to anyone working in the Society’s subject areas; less established or new researchers are normally asked to provide an academic referee, and successful recipients must submit a brief report of outcomes (and, where ethically approved, images) for the Sempre website.
