Gerstner Scholars Biology Program

About this program

Funded by the Gerstner Family Foundation and administered through the American Museum of Natural History’s Richard Gilder Graduate School, the Gerstner Scholars program supports groundbreaking early-career biological research, particularly in genomics, computational biology, and the study of microbes, mammals, invertebrates, and marine life. Research should employ creative approaches with potential to advance human and medical knowledge or understanding of evolution and biodiversity. Applicants must be outstanding biological scientists early in their careers and must have received their degree or deposited their dissertation before beginning the appointment. The annual deadline is November 15.
