GGCTSA Alliance Pilot Awards (APA) 2026-2027

About this program

Greater Gulf Coast Translational Science Alliance (GGCTSA) is offering Clinical and Translational Research Pilot funding through two tracks—the Alliance Pilot Awards (APA) and Mentored Pilot Awards (MPA)—to support interdisciplinary translational projects that advance technologies or generate data for larger NIH or similar grants. APA requires multi-institutional teams including at least two GGCTSA partner institutions (ideally all partners) and is intended to produce data leading to next-stage technology development or an R01-equivalent; two APA awards are anticipated annually. MPA targets early-career investigators (e.g., assistant professors) seeking pilot data for future career-development or research awards and requires identification of a research mentor at the applicant’s home institution plus a GGCTSA partner mentor; four MPA awards (one per GGCTSA institution) are anticipated annually.
