Grants for Recycling Capital Projects - Municipal Waste Reduction and Recycling Program

About this program

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) offers grants through the Municipal Waste Reduction and Recycling Program to strengthen municipal recycling infrastructure and reduce the volume or toxicity of materials entering the municipal solid waste stream. Eligible projects include constructing recycling, composting, or household hazardous waste facilities and purchasing recycling equipment, containers, or collection vehicles; not-for-profit organizations may apply for beverage container assistance projects. Applications must be submitted through the Statewide Financial System Vendor Portal, and awards are issued as funding becomes available on a first-come, first-served basis under a multiyear waitlist.
