Gweneth Humphreys Award for Mentorship of Undergraduate Women

About this program

The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) offers the annual Gweneth Humphreys Award to recognize a mathematics teacher who has encouraged undergraduate women to pursue mathematical careers or graduate study. The recipient receives a $500 prize, honorary certificate, and recognition in the AWM Newsletter, with presentation at the Joint Mathematics Meetings. Nominees may be of any gender, nationality, or citizenship, must be living at nomination, and should demonstrate exceptional mentorship; nominations of women from underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged. Nominations are accepted April 1–May 15 through MathPrograms.org, and may be submitted by anyone, including the nominee, with a nomination letter, mentoring record, supporting letters (including at least one from a student), and a three-page-or-less CV.
