Habitat Enhancement and Restoration

About this program

The California Wildlife Conservation Board offers statewide grants to restore and enhance fish and wildlife resources, including native fisheries, wetlands, coastal and freshwater habitats, wildlife corridors, and fish passage. Approximately $15 million is available, with awards supporting two- to four-year projects through advances and reimbursements; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments, and matching funds are not required, although secured cost share may strengthen an application.
