About this program
The Australian Systematic Botany Society (ASBS) offers the Hansjörg Eichler Research Grant, providing up to AUD 5,000 to support small research projects on the systematics of land plants, algae or fungi, including taxonomy, phylogeny and biogeography. Funding is drawn from the Hansjörg Eichler Research Fund (tax-deductible donations) and is awarded in two rounds each year with applications due 14 March and 14 September. Applicants must be ASBS members; historically most recipients have been students, and ASBS publishes full eligibility criteria, application guidelines and reporting requirements (including guidance for non‑salaried researchers) on its website.
