Harland Bartholomew Award

About this program

Offered by the American Society of Civil Engineers and administered by the Transportation & Development Institute, the Harland Bartholomew Award recognizes outstanding professional contributions by civil engineers to urban planning and development and carries a plaque plus an honorarium (amount set annually). Eligible nominees are ASCE Fellows or Members in good standing and may be honored for Society-published papers or individual professional achievements. Nominations must be submitted via the ASCE nomination form and include a nominator-signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV/biography, and two to three letters of recommendation; the T&DI Awards Committee reviews nominations and the ASCE Board of Direction Executive Committee gives final approval. Nominations are typically due November 1—consult the current ASCE call for nominations for exact deadlines.
