Harry V. Roberts Statistical Advocate of the Year Award

The American Statistical Association’s Chicago Chapter offers the Harry V. Roberts Statistical Advocate of the Year Award to recognize individuals who promote appropriate and effective uses of statistics and statistical reasoning in business or the public sector. The honoree receives an engraved award, $500, paid travel to a Chicago Chapter meeting, and recognition at the Joint Statistical Meetings. Nominees may or may not be statisticians but must have significantly advanced respect for data and statistical reasoning and demonstrated meaningful impact on an organization or sector. Nominations are due March 1 and must include the nominator’s contact information, the nominee’s biographical information, and a letter describing the nominee’s advocacy and its impact; recipients must attend a Chicago Chapter meeting and present.
