About this program
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the annual Henry L. Michel Award for Industry Advancement of Research to recognize visionary leaders whose commitment to research and innovation has advanced the design, construction, and environmental industries. The award consists of a crystal trophy and may be presented to one individual each year. Nominees may come from private, academic, or government sectors and need not be ASCE members, but must demonstrate significant impact and potential for advancing industry research and innovation; ASCE Board members and staff are ineligible. Nominations are due February 1 and must include a signed cover letter with a 250-word rationale, the nominee’s CV or biography, and two to three recommendation letters.
