About this program
The American Neurotology Society and AAO-HNS Foundation, with funding from Dr. Herbert Silverstein, offer the Herbert Silverstein Otology/Neurotology Research Award to support clinical or translational research on peripheral or central auditory and/or vestibular diseases. One nonrenewable award provides $25,000 ($12,500 annually for up to two years) to help new academic surgeons develop research programs suitable for future NIH or comparable funding. Eligible applicants must be new full-time academic surgeons conducting research in otology/neurotology; all applicants must submit an online Letter of Intent. The next award will be available in 2028, with the application portal opening in October 2027.
