Herman F. Mark Polymer Chemistry Award

About this program

The POLY Division of the American Chemical Society administers the biennial Herman F. Mark Polymer Chemistry Award to recognize outstanding research and leadership in polymer science; it is presented in odd-numbered years at the ACS national meeting and includes a plaque, a $1,500 honorarium, and travel expenses, with the recipient expected to present a symposium in their honor. Applications are due November 1 of even-numbered years. Nominees must be members or affiliates of the POLY Division and are evaluated for research accomplishments and contributions to polymer science via teaching, research, technical leadership, and scholarly writings. Nominations must be submitted by a POLY member/affiliate as a single PDF emailed to carleel@vt.edu and must include a completed application form, one two-page nomination letter, a two-page tailored CV for the nominee, and a complete list of relevant scholarly works.
