About this program
The British Phycological Society awards the annual Hilda Canter-Lund Award for an outstanding phycological photograph that combines informative, technical and aesthetic qualities; the winner receives a prize of £250. Entrants may be anyone (not limited to BPS members) and may submit images of micro- or macroalgae from marine, freshwater or terrestrial environments, produced using any photographic medium. Entries are judged on their informative, technical and aesthetic merits; the annual closing date is posted on ALGAE-L and the BPS website, shortlisted images are published online and the winner is announced at the Society’s Annual Meeting.
