Horticulture Hall of Fame Award

About this program

The American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) Horticulture Hall of Fame Award honors individuals whose extraordinary, discipline-changing contributions have had longstanding and widely recognized impacts on horticulture. Recipients receive a plaque at ASHS Headquarters, and a certificate and potential HortScience narrative may be provided for deceased honorees and their families. Nominees may be ASHS members or nonmembers, living, retired, or deceased, and may have contributed through research, teaching, extension, administration, industry, government, international horticulture, or professional practice. Nominators must submit an online nomination by February 4, including a 1,000–2,000-word contribution narrative, a 250-word summary, a 20-word plaque annotation, supporting documentation, and letters from knowledgeable individuals, preferably including those outside the nominee’s institution.
