IAGLR Large Lake Champion Award

About this program

International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR) offers the Large Lake Champion Award to honor individuals whose work has substantially advanced public, policy, social, economic, or ecological understanding of large lakes worldwide; the award is honorary (no monetary prize) and recipients are announced at the annual Conference on Great Lakes Research. Nominees are submitted by IAGLR members (nominees need not be members) and must not have previously received the award; selection emphasizes community and social impact and excellence in research, policy, education, communication, or outreach, with particular emphasis on contributions within the past two years. Nomination packages must include a nomination letter from an IAGLR member describing the nominee’s contributions to public and/or policymaker education or outreach, the nominee’s CV/resume, and at least three letters of support (preferably from IAGLR members). Submit nominations via email to awardnominations@iaglr.org; a deadline is listed as February 1 (year not specified).
