IARS Mentored Research Award

About this program

The International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) offers the IARS Mentored Research Award (IMRA) to support early-career investigators in anesthesiology and related fields, providing up to $175,000 over two years for research projects. Applicants must be IARS members who have not yet secured substantial independent funding or are exploring a new research area, with a focus on projects relevant to anesthesiology practice. Eligibility requires a senior mentor, an appointment in a successful principal investigator’s group, and a clear research plan demonstrating scientific merit and career potential. Applications are reviewed by an external advisory board, with awards granted based on relevance to anesthesiology and the investigator’s promise.
