About this program

The International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD) offers competitive Grant-in-Aid funding to researchers worldwide for generating high-quality experimental powder diffraction patterns, improving existing reference data, and advancing the Powder Diffraction File. Funding may support equipment, supplies, or related research, with starter grants offering up to $1,000 for five patterns; recipients may also receive discounted ICDD products and publication benefits. Applicants must register online, submit a CV or resume, and provide an approved diffraction pattern from a Standard Reference Material before proposing up to five compounds. Proposals are due January 31 or July 31, and priority is given to novel, high-interest materials not already represented in the database.
