ICRS Mid-Career Scientist Award

About this program

The International Coral Reef Society (ICRS) awards an annual Mid-Career Scientist Award recognizing excellence in coral reef research conducted over roughly the preceding 10 years, together with demonstrated contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion, mentorship, and community engagement; recognition is non-monetary and includes a certificate, invitation to present at the next ICRS symposium, and invitation to contribute to Reef Encounter, with ICRS Fellow status considered separately if applicable. Eligible candidates are mid-career scientists with approximately 10–20 years post-PhD. Applicants must be current ICRS members and have held membership for at least 3 of the past 5 years, and must document how they meet the research and broader-contribution criteria relative to the opportunities in their research environment. One award is given annually; nominations follow the Society Annual Awards process and applications are due February 15 (questions directed to the Awards Committee Chair).
