IEEE PES Nari Hingorani Custom Power Award

About this program

The IEEE Power & Energy Society administers the Nari Hingorani Custom Power Award to recognize individuals who have made major contributions to the state-of-the-art in Custom Power technologies and their applications; the annual award includes $2,000, a medal and plaque and is funded by industry supporters and the IEEE Foundation. Nominations are accepted 1 October–31 January each year and the award is presented at the PES General Meeting or another PES conference. Eligible candidates are individuals with demonstrated major contributions to custom power (power-electronic controllers in 1–38 kV distribution systems) and are evaluated on originality, impact, publications, stature and professional activities; nominators should address these factors in the nomination package. Travel expenses for the recipient to attend the presentation are generally not covered unless strongly justified and approved by the Award Selection Committee.
