About this program
The Institute of Food Technologists offers the IFT Research & Development Award to recognize individual or team R&D accomplishments that have substantially impacted the global food system; the award carries a $5,000 honorarium and a crystal award. Eligible nominees are individuals or teams (maximum five people) from any sector of the food field — academic, industrial, government, consulting, or other — whose leadership of an R&D program produced a significant, practical, and innovative advancement in food science and technology. Team nominations must identify each member’s role and clearly highlight those primarily responsible for the achievement.
