About this program

Washington State’s CARE Fund provides grants to public and private entities conducting cancer research in Washington State to advance transformational science across the cancer research continuum. Current and anticipated solicitations include a Scientific Discoveries Research call announced Jan 5, 2026 (application deadline Mar 2, 2026, 4:00 p.m. PT) and an anticipated Implementation and Outcomes Research competition expected to open June 2027 to support translation of promising discoveries into interventions, devices, technologies, or therapeutics. Eligible applicants are innovative and meritorious cancer investigators and multidisciplinary teams at all career stages affiliated with public or private organizations conducting cancer research in Washington State.
