About this program

The American Chemical Society (ACS) offers the James Flack Norris Award in Physical Organic Chemistry to honor and recognize exceptional contributions to the field. Established in 1963, this national award provides $5,000, a certificate, and up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the award presentation. Eligibility is open to faculty, industry professionals, chemistry professionals, and international candidates, with no restrictions based on personal characteristics such as race, gender, or educational background. Nominations are accepted annually from July 1 to November 1.
