Industrial Biotechnology Award (ACS BIOT)

About this program

The American Chemical Society’s Biochemical Technology (BIOT) Division awards the biennial Industrial Biotechnology Award to organizations, companies, teams, or individuals for successful commercialization of novel biochemical processes; recipients receive a commemorative plaque and present their process at an ACS national meeting. There is no monetary prize and awardees must cover all travel and related expenses. Nominations are self-nominations and are open to entities that have brought a bioprocess technology into commercial practice, with preference given to processes commercialized within the past 5–10 years. Selection is based on innovativeness of the process and development path, commercial or societal impact, and supporting evidence such as patents, publications, or other public disclosure.
