Industrial Heritage Preservation Grants (Eric DeLony Fund)

About this program

The Society for Industrial Archaeology’s Eric DeLony Industrial Heritage Preservation Grant Fund awards $1,000–$3,000 grants to support study, documentation, recordation, and preservation of significant historic industrial sites, structures, maritime facilities, and artifacts, including public outreach, photography/videography, inventories, and measured drawings. Eligible applicants include qualified individuals, independent scholars, nonprofit organizations, and academic institutions (organizations preferred), with substantial participation from state, county, or local history groups encouraged; funds may not be used for overhead or administration, and in-kind or cash contributions from sponsors may qualify for matching. Applications are accepted annually and must be received by March 1 for consideration at the SIA Annual Meeting (decisions usually late May or June); submit a single PDF (completed cover sheet with signatures plus attachments) via email to sia@siahq.org, and awardees must provide a written project summary suitable for publication in the SIA Newsletter or Industrial Archaeology.
