Initiative Fund

About this program

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) offers the Initiative Fund to provide seed funding from its restricted reserve for new activities, programs, and pilot projects that advance Society interests. Optional preproposals (≤4 pages) may be submitted for feedback; full proposals (≤8 pages, including cover) must use ASABE’s template and are reviewed triannually (submissions 2 Jun–1 Sep considered in fall, 2 Sep–1 Mar in spring, 2 Mar–1 Jun at the Annual Meeting). Applicants must be ASABE members or groups within the Society and proposals must align with ASABE bylaws and Board goals; endorsement by an appropriate Council/division is encouraged and members of the Presidents group, Board of Trustees, or headquarters staff are advised not to be listed as requestors to avoid conflicts. Awards depend on annual Finance Committee authorization, may be multi‑year (up to three years with budgets), require interim/final reporting, and proposals/questions should be submitted in PDF to InitiativeFund@asabe.org.
