Inland Wetlands Conservation

About this program

The California Wildlife Conservation Board offers Inland Wetlands Conservation Program grants to protect, restore, and enhance wetlands and associated wildlife habitats within the Central Valley Joint Venture region, with emphasis on the Central Valley floor and its nine basins. Eligible projects include land or water acquisition, conservation easements, habitat restoration, and enhancement of degraded public or private lands, supported by approximately $8 million in state funding. Nonprofit organizations and local, state, federal, and tribal governments are eligible to apply; matching funds are not required but may strengthen proposals. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis for generally two- to four-year grant terms.
