Inland Wetlands Conservation

About this program

The Wildlife Conservation Board offers the Inland Wetlands Conservation Program (IWCP), an $8 million grant initiative aimed at protecting, restoring, and enhancing wetlands and associated habitats within the Central Valley Joint Venture area. This program supports activities such as land acquisition, conservation easements, habitat restoration, and enhancement to bolster migratory bird populations. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, local, state, and federal agencies, as well as tribal governments. While cost-sharing is not mandatory, projects with secured cost-share contributions may receive higher scores during the application review process.
