Integrating Special Populations (ISP) Pilot Award

Frontiers Clinical & Translational Science Institute offers the Integrating Special Populations (ISP) Pilot Award, a single annual $25,000 pilot grant to support early-stage clinical and translational research designed to lead to externally funded projects. The program prioritizes multidisciplinary, stakeholder-engaged studies that improve health across the lifespan—such as maternal‑fetal‑child and adolescent outcomes, transitions of care, inclusion of older adults and rural residents in intervention development, and rare disease challenges in rural and underserved communities. Eligible principal investigators must be Frontiers members, eligible to receive federal funding, and employed by a Frontiers partner institution (e.g., Children's Mercy Kansas City, Kansas State University, Saint Luke's/BJC, University of Kansas/KUMC, University of Kansas Health System, University of Missouri–Kansas City); PIs may serve as PI on only one application (may be collaborators on others) and only one ISP award is made annually, and applications are not currently being accepted.
