Integration of Structural Steel into Architecture Programs

The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Education Foundation offers grants of up to $110,000 over four consecutive years to help U.S. university-based architecture programs integrate structural steel education into studios, courses, events, tours, and related activities. One architecture program is selected annually, with awards of up to $40,000 per year and access to AISC educational resources and industry connections. Eligible applicants must be U.S.-based university architecture programs led primarily by architecture faculty, with most participating students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate architecture programs; interdisciplinary partnerships are encouraged but cannot lead the project. Proposals must include a program schedule featuring at least three required activities, a budget, participating faculty CVs, institutional support letters, and annual reporting plans; the 2027 application deadline is January 11, 2027.
