International Crop Science Award

About this program

The Crop Science Society of America (CSSA) offers the International Crop Science Award to recognize creativity and innovation that produce specific, long‑lasting changes in crops-related practices, products, or programs at the international level. The award includes a certificate, a complimentary ticket to the award ceremony, and $2,000, and nominations are evaluated for creativity and innovation, credibility and professionalism, demonstrable international influence and lasting impact, and educational contributions (including work with international graduate students and nonrefereed publications where relevant). Nominations must be submitted by CSSA members and nominees must also be CSSA members; CSSA Awards Committee and Board members may not serve as nominators, nominees, or references, former recipients are ineligible, and teams may be nominated provided at least one member is a CSSA member and non-discipline team members are major contributors (≥50%). The annual nomination window runs January through March 25 (recurring) and requires detailed nomination materials with specified character limits for sections on international contribution, creativity/innovation, educational contribution, up to 12 professional contributions, and an evaluation summary.
