International Speleological Participation Grants

The National Speleological Society (NSS) administers International Speleological Participation Grants, funded from the NSS International Support Fund, to support international speleological projects and foster exchange of techniques and information; applications are reviewed by the International Secretary, the Research Advisory Committee Chair, and the NSS President. Selection focuses on mutual benefit to NSS and foreign speleology, creation of durable linkages for information/technique exchange, and speleological merit (scientific value); no award amounts or deadlines are specified. Applicants must provide contact information, affiliations and qualifications, a project description and objectives, explanation of benefit to NSS, co‑venturer and cooperating NSS member names, a tentative itinerary with contacts, and identify an NSS member who will accept responsibility for the applicant/project while in the U.S.; the signed application must include agreement to submit a written report within six months of award.
