About this program
The Indiana Sheriffs' Association established the SAFE (Sheriff and Family Emergency) Fund on July 19, 2023 to provide rapid financial assistance to ISA sheriff members and their families affected by life‑changing incidents. The not‑for‑profit fund is seeded at $15,000 annually and enables an ISA representative to award immediate cash gifts of up to $1,000 per family for events such as accidents, on‑duty injuries, or sickness. Eligible recipients are Indiana Sheriffs' Association sheriff members and their families; awards are made on an as‑needed basis with no formal deadline and an application and contact/donation information are available through the ISA.
