ISSMGE Outstanding Innovator Award

About this program

The International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) offers the Award for Innovation in Geo‑engineering (Outstanding Innovator Award) to recognize individual members or groups of members whose theoretical, technical, technological, software or construction innovations have demonstrable impact on geo‑engineering practice, research, or education. Awardees receive institutional exposure via the ISSMGE website, social media and Bulletin; no monetary prize is specified. Nominations may be submitted only by ISSMGE Member Societies (one nomination per society) and nominees must be individual ISSMGE members or groups of members (researchers, consultants, contractors). Nomination packages must include a signed cover letter from the nominating society, a motivation statement (max 2 pages) with supporting evidence, the nominee’s CV (up to 5 pages) or biographical information (CVs for all group members where applicable), and at least two independent letters of recommendation.
