Institute for Theoretical, Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (ITAMP) at the Harvard–Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics offers a two‑year postdoctoral fellowship with an annual stipend starting at $71,000, travel funds for collaboration and conference attendance, and full health and dental insurance to support research across theoretical AMO physics. Funded topics include ultracold atomic and molecular few‑ and many‑body physics, quantum gases, quantum and nonlinear optics, atoms and molecules in strong fields, atomic and molecular astrophysics, quantum information and simulations, and nanoscale atomic interactions. Applicants must have recently earned a Ph.D. and demonstrate the independence to carry out research in these areas; selection is by committee shortlisting, an on‑site interview with presentation, and advisory board consultation. International awardees are issued J‑1 visas by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory.
