IUBMB Tatenda Murigo Distinguished Scholarship in Biochemistry

The International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) offers a US$5,000 scholarship to support one year of study and completion of a senior Honors project in biochemistry and molecular biology. The award is for a female undergraduate student in Zimbabwe entering her final year and may cover tuition, living expenses, conference travel, and research materials. Candidates must be nominated by the biochemistry departments of the University of Zimbabwe, National University of Science and Technology, Midlands State University, or Chinhoyi University of Technology, with each department able to nominate up to three students. Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence, research aptitude, membership in a local biochemistry or molecular biology society, and commitment to science policy, communication, or advocacy, particularly for women and Africa; nominations are due June 15.
