Ivo & Renata Babuška Prize

About this program

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) awards the Ivo & Renata Babuška Prize every two years for high-quality interdisciplinary work involving the modeling and numerical solution of a specific engineering or scientific application. The $10,000 prize recognizes excellence in modeling, mathematics, computational science, application impact, and interdisciplinary collaboration, with the next call for nominations opening March 1, 2028. Candidates may be any members of the scientific community and must be nominated for a single work or cohesive body of work, including collaborative work by multiple individuals. Nominations require a recommendation letter, the candidate’s CV, and two or three expert letters of support.
