About this program
The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) offers the James M. Matarazzo Rising Star Award to recognize early-career members who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential and significant contributions to the association and the information science profession. Up to three recipients receive complimentary registration to the Information Science Summit & Special Libraries Conference and are formally honored at that meeting. Eligible nominees must be current ASIS&T members in good standing who have been active members for no more than five years; prior awardees, current Awards & Honors Committee members, and current Board members are ineligible. Nominations are submitted via ASIS&T’s online portal by the stated deadline (typically around April 8) and must include nominee and nominator contact information, a 200–500 word nomination statement, the nominee’s CV, and a supporting letter detailing service and contributions.
