The American Association of Geographers (AAG) Applied Geography Specialty Group awards the James R. Anderson Medal of Honor in Applied Geography, its highest honor, for highly distinguished service and notable contributions to the geography profession. Eligible nominees may be individuals or groups whose achievements advance geography through industry, government, education, research, literature, professional service, or public service. Nominees and awardees must comply with the AAG Professional Conduct Policy; nominations or awards may be rescinded for violations.
