JILA Postdoctoral Research Associateship Program

About this program

JILA, a joint institute of the University of Colorado Boulder and NIST, offers Postdoctoral Research Associateships to provide advanced post-Ph.D. research training and to support collaborative research across JILA programs. Appointments are made through the University of Colorado Boulder (and via NIST’s National Research Associates Program), typically last a year or longer, and include competitive salaries and benefits funded by grants and contracts to JILA staff (NSF, NASA, DOE, DoD, etc.). Applicants worldwide in the years immediately following the Ph.D. are eligible; Associates work under the direction of permanent JILA scientific staff, although proposals for original research may be considered. Applications are accepted any time and should include a completed application form, one letter of recommendation, a graduate transcript (unofficial acceptable initially), a list of publications accepted or in preparation, and a CV; applicants are encouraged to contact JILA Fellows before applying and should email materials to the JILA Executive Assistant.
