John Adam Fleming Medal — AGU Union Medal recognizing original research and technical leadership in geomagnetism and space physics

The American Geophysical Union awards the annual John Adam Fleming Medal to one honoree for original research and technical leadership in geomagnetism, atmospheric electricity, aeronomy, space physics and related sciences. The award confers an engraved medal, recognition at AGU’s annual meeting, induction into the AGU College of Fellows (subject to three consecutive years of membership or hardship exception), and two Honors Reception tickets; nominations are typically solicited during a window listed as 5 January–2 March. Nominees must be experienced senior scientists and established leaders with demonstrated scientific excellence, impact, service to the discipline, and international standing.
