John Beynon Travel and Conference Fund (BMSS)

About this program

The British Mass Spectrometry Society (BMSS) administers the John Beynon Travel and Conference Fund to provide travel support of up to £400 (reimbursed by BACS) for BMSS members attending conferences and meetings, normally where the applicant is presenting; reimbursement follows submission of a travel report, completed expense claim and legible receipts (allow up to 30 working days). Applicants must be BMSS members with at least three calendar months' standing and may submit only one application per calendar year; applications must be lodged at least four weeks before the planned travel (late or retrospective applications are not accepted). A signed supervisor letter on institutional letterhead is mandatory, applicants are expected to seek economical transport, and preference is given to students and early-career researchers; applications to BMSS meetings or with evidence of other funding are favoured, and successful applicants must acknowledge BMSS on presentations and may have their travel reports published.
