John Daly Field Work Research Grant

About this program

The American Society of Pharmacognosy offers the John Daly Field Work Research Grant to support members conducting natural-products field research, including specimen collection, extraction, analysis, and field bioassays. Awards provide up to $3,500 for two years to cover eligible fieldwork expenses such as permits, collection supplies, transportation, lodging, and payments to local or Indigenous collaborators; salaries, overhead, major equipment, meetings, and projects already supported by major awards are excluded. Applicants must be active ASP members in good standing and submit a 3–6-page narrative, budget and justification, collection and environmental-impact details, voucher and taxonomic procedures, and institutional endorsement by the February 15 deadline. International or Indigenous collections must demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and explain benefits to local communities.
